Napthens Blackburn office are hiring a Legal Assistant to join our Commercial Property, Real Estate department.
Working closely with our commercial property solicitors you will be required to assist in the day-to-day progression of files, office administration and management of diaries’, calls and internal administration.
Day to day you will be involved in: -
Relationship building with 3rd parties, proactively progressing matters.- Handling first line client queries.
- Arranging practical aspects relating to case work.
- Taking ownership in the drafting and submissions of Land Registry Applications and Stamp Duty returns, alongside the file handler.
- Undertaking due diligence and research.
- Attending upon clients for administrative matters.
- Attending meetings for note taking.
- Diary management.
- Preparation of complex documentation.
- Preparing client care letters, terms and conditions and ensuring all templates/precedents are up to date.
- Proactively supporting lawyers in file reviews.
- Liaising with Risk and Compliance on Audit.
- Preparing bills and dealing with the financial aspects of the transaction/matter.
- Supporting lawyers in proactively managing WIP and aged debt.
- Assisting with risk and compliance elements associated with case work.
- Updating external websites and portals on matters, as and when required
- Ensuring all file closing procedures are conducted at the end of the transaction and liaising with archiving for file closure.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications required to perform the role:

- Effective time management
- Experience gained within a property department as a legal assistant or legal secretary.
- Proven experience of working with a case management system, e.g. Proclaim.
- Working knowledge of property, commercial, residential, conveyancing and or real estate.
