We are looking for a Head of Global Transport and Logistics to join the team. Reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, this is key member of the global supply chain leadership Team. This role requires cost and performance management of a multimillion pound annual logistics budget with third party service providers including global freight spend for both deep sea and customer/consumer distribution and global network development to support Joseph Joseph growth plans.
What you will be doing:
- Responsible for efficient and cost effective distribution of products from seven global warehouses to customers and consumers, with best in class cost and performance
- Focus on D2C logistics service development and delivery ensuring standardised and scalable operations with best-in-class delivery service offering and performance
- Responsible for inbound and outbound global freight, reviewing and tendering contracts ensuring competitive and effective service performance and cost to serve
- Full P&L and cost responsibility for global logistics
- Support the head of global warehousing for new customer operational on-boarding
- Constantly looking at process and system enhancements, facilitating cost down opportunities with distribution partners.
- Management of global customs compliance and duty management
- Managing internal logistics team objectives, performance and training
What we need from you:
- Substantial experience managing regional and preferably global distribution with 3PL service providers including D2C, B2B, global sea-freight and outbound distribution for global CPG/FMCG businesses
- Demonstrated experience delivering service improvements and cost management/cost down initiatives
- Experience of e-commerce D2C service requirements, development and implementation
- Proven experience of Logistics service provider tender processes, rate card negotiations and new service provider implementations
- Preferably previous experience working with SAP and an understanding of EDI connectivity
- Ability to extract, manipulate and present data from multiple sources (ERP, Data Warehouse, WMS & TMS)
