Job Description
Job Title: Head of Facilities
Responsible to: 1st Team Manager
Hours of Work: There are no fixed hours of work under this agreement.
The Employee’s normal working hours shall be such hours as are deemed necessary for the proper performance of the duties. Exact hours will be agreed with the Fitness Coach and will be flexible around Matchday Operations. Expect to work days, evenings and weekends.
Role:
- Manage and take responsibility for all Training Ground Facilities and work alongside the Heads of Departments to ensure the facility functions to the required standard.
- Manage and take responsibility for all matters relating to playing and training kit for the club’s 1st, Reserve and Youth teams playing and coaching staff. This is to be done within agreed and monitored budgetary parameters.
- Ensure that all 1st and Reserve team playing and training kit is cleaned, prepared and ready for use the next day or for the next game as appropriate. Ensure Youth team playing kit is cleaned, prepared and ready for use the next day or for the next game as appropriate.
- Ensure the laundry room is kept clean and organised at all times and that all equipment is used correctly and any defects are reported immediately.
- Ensure that an adequate supply of playing and training equipment is ordered for the 1st, Reserve, Youth Teams and staff for the entire season. Monitor and control the distribution of this stock throughout the season.
- Ensure kits for the 1st, Reserve and Youth teams are named and numbered as appropriate. Further, to ensure kit is named and numbered in a discreet and timely manner for any new additions to the squads.
- Ensure that when the team is staying overnight the players nutritional needs are met by planning and purchasing meals in accordance with the Fitness Coach. This is to be done within agreed and monitored budgetary parameters.
- To prepare kit for and attend all 1st and Reserve Team games and where practical youth games. Further, prepare balls and cones for all games.
- Ensure training kits are set out for 1st Team by no later than 9.15am for training commencing.
- After training ensure the areas are cleared of all food and perishable items.
- On home matchdays, ensure that all kit and match balls are at the Stadium in a timely manner. Ensure that the ice bath is filled and prepared and ensure an adequate supply of ice is available.
- Ensure that the match day bench is set up with drinking water, spare studs etc
- During any home match, be available in/or around the home team bench as instructed on the day by your Line Manager
- At Half-Time, be available should anything be needed. Ensure all players stud/boots are fit for purpose and replace as necessary.
- At the end of a home match, clear away all match equipment. Further, load all kits into kit tins and load them onto the van to return them back to the laundry.
- Ensure all kits/match balls/physio equipment are prepared and loaded on to the coach for any away matches. Further ensure that all boots, balls and cones are packed for away travel.
- Travel to Away Matches with the First Team. Driving licence essential.
