ABOUT US
Transforming Lives Through Excellent Education
London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have
always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so
unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse
community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving
some of London's most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is
underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the
opportunity to transform their life through the power of education.
Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our
academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with
access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit
personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture,
public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around
the world.
ABOUT THE POST
This post is key to achieving London Met's goals of equity, inclusion
and student success, with responsibility to provide academic leadership
and high-level coordination in the provision of staff professional
development for enhancement of practice in teaching, learning and
pedagogical scholarship and research - as part of a central team led by
the Director of Teaching and Learning. The role includes expertly
coordinating and contributing to the design, delivery, quality assurance
and evaluation of taught provision, training sessions, professional
recognition and reward schemes, and activities for supporting
subject/course teams in implementing course enhancement plans, the
University's Education for Social Justice Framework and other strategic
Learning and Teaching initiatives.
We are looking for new academic colleagues, people who reflect our
students' lived experience and who are strongly aligned with our values
of equity, inclusion and transformation through education.
You will be educated to Masters' degree level or higher, and have
substantial experience in the provision of academic staff development
and in organising impactful professional development activities. You
will also have a strong knowledge of theory, policy and practice of
teaching and learning in higher education, and a record of active
