About the role
Heading up our Ecommerce Trading Team based in Bromborough, you will define and implement a high performing strategy to maximise revenue and improve customer experience across the group websites.
As Head of Ecommerce, you will bring strong strategic and leadership skills, to build, develop and execute the long-term trading strategy. Through identifying and maximising opportunities to enhance the customer experience, you will be instrumental in achieving company-wide growth targets. This is a crucial role to drive forward the future of the business; working closely with Marketing, Buying, Merchandising, Customer Experience and Visual Content Team.
Key responsibilities and duties
- Working closely with Directors to define, develop and implement an effective trading strategy.
- Overseeing and approving creation of promotional content and campaigns.
- Support the Ecommerce Trade team in achieving team KPI targets, including but not limited to (Conversion Rate, Bounce Rate, AOV, Exit Rates, Traffic (new and returning). Taking appropriate action where necessary to enhance and maximise performance.
- Analysing onsite performance reports produced by the trade team and making proposals on how to improve overall product merchandising and conversion.
- Over time, implementing trading and promotional strategy across the groups’ sites in line with the brand message and tone of voice.
- Overseeing the visual merchandising onsite in line with the company's vision, product performance, analytics, and trends.
- Delivery and implementation of the marketing calendar activities – supporting the team to schedule new collection launches and promotional activity.
- Encourage cross team/department collaboration particularly with the Visual Content team and Copywriter to ensure all product requirements are prepared in advance of business-wide deadlines.
- Build relationship with Marketing function to ensure all activity requirements are actioned in a timely manner.
- Own the brand strategy supporting the team to implement actions and propose innovations.
- Put systems in place to ensure online trading communications remain on brand whilst also being highly commercial, ensure company creative and copy used in product descriptions is continually reviewed and updated.
- Identifying and maximising cross-selling opportunities across all sites.
- Keeping up to date with innovation in ecommerce, online fashion retailing and logistics and how this could be impacting trade performance.
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject (eg. Fashion/Merchandising/Marketing)
- A minimum of 8 years’ specialising in online trading/merchandising, including leading a team
- Strategic experience developing key ecommerce activities
- Good working knowledge of ecommerce platforms, ideally Shopify
- Previous experience in group company trading in international territories
- Well versed in most major ecommerce platforms, online tools and back-end systems
- Advanced IT skills (Microsoft Office, particularly Excel/Google Sheets)
- Data-driven and extremely analytical
- Decisive, highly organised with excellent time management
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Meticulous in your approach with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
