What to expect

This is an exciting role that reports into the Digital Director and carries widescale responsibility. As head of digital delivery and operations, you will be taking a highly visible role responsible for managing and further developing the Post Office’s customer facing website and app. You will be working closely alongside other senior leaders in the customer experience team and across the business to help implement the purpose and strategy.



This role offers you an exciting opportunity to shape, drive and implement digital development, delivery and execution that transforms customer experience.
You will be managing two scrum teams consisting of digital product owners, solution architects, developers, and agile delivery manager and testers to build and prioritise the product backlog in order to deliver the product vision, with a focus on enhancing the customer experience driving acquisition and engagement.



You will also be accountable for the CMS team who build and execute website pages and push live. This team receives over 700 briefs from the business annually delivering everything from small change, through to regulatory driven and strategic initiatives. The CMS team has a head of reporting into you and another 6 executives under the head of role.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Technical background
  • Experience working with big integrational global companies (complex matrix organization)
  • Knows how to build product vision, and set out roadmap, features and user stories
  • Understanding of Technology Application Development, Tech Ops (Infrastructure) and Corporate Info Security
  • Able to support the Product Transformation and drive up Product maturity across stakeholder related functions
  • Understands agile, scrum and has experience with scaled scrum (such as SAFe, S@S, LeSS)
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of infrastructure architecture and API connectivity
  • Vast experience in managing big digital delivery teams. Although, you’ll only have 4-5 direct reports, the role is accountable for over 20 staff consisting of FTEs, FTCs and contractors
  • Possess a passion for all things digital and all things customer
  • Good understanding of Agile ways of working and working in a fast-paced delivery environment
  • Good collaborator and communicator, excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build key relationships and work collaboratively with wider teams including UX/UI, planning, IT, product and third parties
