We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Content to join the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), a leading charity committed to creating a stronger and more resilient charitable sector.
The Head of Content will join our Group Marketing team at Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).
What you’ll do
As the Head of Content, you will play a pivotal role in driving our content strategy, overseeing the creation and delivery of compelling and impactful content across various channels to engage and inspire our stakeholders, including donors, Charities and Key Sector influencers.
As our Head of Content, you will:
- Develop our thought leadership strategy aligned with CAF’s mission, values, and strategic goals. Create a distinct tone of voice. Enable the clear and compelling communication of CAF’s work and that of our partner charities. Identify compelling stories, and narratives that resonate with our stakeholders and inspire them to act.
- Define key themes, messaging, and target audiences to effectively communicate the organization’s impact, drive engagement and brand consideration. Write, develop, and distribute thought leadership content to showcase our areas expertise and innovation.
- As well as producing content, identify and manage a team of freelance content creators, including writers, editors, and multimedia specialists, to produce high-quality, informative, and persuasive content. This includes articles, blog posts, case studies, videos, infographics, reports (including annual reports), social media content, and other related formats.
- Working with Head of Marketing, Head of External Affairs and Head of Research, oversee key communications including Annual Reports and Research Reports.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including internal communications and the marketing and external affairs teams, to align content initiatives with broader organizational objectives. Work closely with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of content.
- Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of content initiatives. Continuously monitor and analyze data to optimize content performance, make date-driven decision, and provide actional insights.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in content creation and distribution within the charitable sector. Apply insights to enhance CAF’s content strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
- Build a high performing team of writers and content editors made up of permanent, agency and freelance resource.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Data Protection legislation, compliance requirements and relevant Consumer Duty obligations.
- Support the effective delivery of CAF’s four core transformation initiatives/programme: Reset, Rebrand, Renew and Spark.
Who you’ll be
This role is for you if you have experience of working in an Editorial/ Content management role in the Social Impact sector or have relevant transferable skills and are keen to make a difference to society. We are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree ideally in a related subject or its equivalent.
- Proven experience in content strategy development and execution, ideally within a complex, social purpose or nonprofit sector.
- First class writing and editing skills. Proficiency in storytelling and the ability to communicate complex concepts in an engaging and accessible manner.
- Experience managing a team of content creators, including freelancers and agencies.
- Demonstrated understanding of digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing, SEO, and web analytics. Ability to analyse data and use metrics to drive content decisions and demonstrate ROI.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of the Charitable, Social Impact or Philanthropy sector and an understanding of challenges and opportunities facing donors, charities, and nonprofits.
- A creative mindset, with the ability to think strategically and generate innovative ideas.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
