Beamish Museum shares stories about life in the North East through our first class collections and visitor engagement. The museum attracts c. 800,000 visitors each year with a strong local following as well as national and international visitors.
Commercial income and ideas generation is a key growth area for Beamish and secondary spend is critical to the museums operation and development. The museum has multiple retail, food and beverage outlets, with more currently in development stages within the 1950s and Georgian areas, including overnight accommodation.
We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated and creative person to lead the Commercial Operations and Development Team, generating increased offer and income streams, developing new bespoke lines and taking ideas forward.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on manager and leader, be creative and have experience of developing a commercial strategy and of growing a unique brand through licensing and trademark initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a world renowned open air museum, leading the Commercial Team, developing creative ideas for vital income generation and increasing returns to enable the museums future sustainability.
