The Business Architecture team is at the heart of the bank within the Chief Technology Office (CTO). We provide design and shaping services that turn the bank’s strategy into implementable business and technology initiatives, which deliver brilliant experiences for our customers whilst also ensuring initiatives are set up for success from the beginning and aligned to our wider Group Technology & Data strategies.
We focus on the design of common business capabilities which can transform the organisation and deliver value across the Group portfolio. Through collaboration with our partners in IT Architecture and Customer Experience Design we champion the best long-term outcomes for the Group from a customer, business, and technology perspective.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Business Architecture in a leadership role reporting into the Consumer Business Architecture and Design Director.
Expectations of the Role.
One of your main responsibilities would be ensuring that the end-to-end design is consistent with the wider bank's design, and work with the cross functional transformation team to drive these designs in line with the Group Technology Strategy.
Lead shaping activity and be responsible for translating the vision into a meaningful business case and delivery plan, making clear which choices are best for customers, business, technology and sustainability.
  • You'll manage a team of business architects and lead the design activities across a business area. Driving strategy, joining the dots, working alongside, and engaging with executive members across the business. Able to clearly articulate strategic design options and trade
  • offs.
  • Manage a business architecture team acting as technology leaders to define and shape business capabilities that meet the needs of customers, risk colleagues and other colleagues with risk responsibilities.
  • Shaping and governing strategic change agenda to maximise alignment and achieve the Group's vision.
  • Collaborating with broader design colleagues. stakeholders and other stakeholders to tackle problems and shape initiatives to align the needs of our business risk sponsors, building for today as well as tomorrow
  • Building and managing an empowered, diverse & inclusive high performing team where colleagues love to work.

Qualities we'd be looking for:
  • Experience ideally of Enterprise (inc. Credit) risk and / or Consumer Banking.
  • Experience across varied design-related fields such as technology led change, business analysis, business architecture, systems thinking or service design with excellent organisational and written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Good knowledge of Retail Banking such as products, processes, distribution, and innovation trends in digital banking
  • Disrupt and challenge the status quo to deliver transformative enablers. Delivering value to Customers and the group. Collaborate, and challenge Product Owners and the business to craft creative solutions
  • Demonstrate logical, well-structured thought processes, applying meaningful insights to drive ground-breaking change.
  • Facilitating cross divisional re-use and enhancement of solutions and capabilities. Comfortable facilitating workshops with audiences from different backgrounds and levels within the organisation.
  • Champions design and helps change mind-sets about problem solving to drive continuous improvement in the way we design as well as the way the organisation operates. by using and sharing knowledge
  • You'll enjoy getting into the detail of complex problems whilst maintaining awareness of trends, strategy, and broader change across LBG and the wider industry.

A discretionary performance-related bonus (last year the opportunity was up to forty percent of base salary at this grade)
  • A base salary of between £92,432.00.00 - £135,440 depending on location
