Job summary
To lead the production and maintenance of the BIM Execution Plan and the set of documents that provide the framework for the production of structured information in both Design and Construction phases. To implement and maintain the required technological tools to facilitate information collection, exchange and use. To collaborate and agree with Department Leads best information workflows and tolls. To establish process to identify need and provide training to Contractor and Supply Chain, in the use of information systems. This roles sits in Project Controls Team and primarily reports to the Head of Project Controls however, will also report to the Construction Manager and the Lead Design Manager in construction related activities. The Information Manager provides focal point in project information management issues in the contract and leads the Information Management Department.
Key responsibilities
To produce and maintain the project BIM Execution Plan and Standards Method and Procedures compliant with Employer BIM Requirements and in accordance with PAS 1192-- To manage the information exchange processes between Contractor and Employer and Contractor and others.
- To implement of the the Common Data Environment (CDE) compliant with the BS1192:2007 and PAS 1192-2 platform, to support project information processes and ensure it is maintained during design and construction.
- To implement the Task Information Delivery Plan (TIPD) and Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) to facilitate and monitor the progressive of the PIM and AIM.
- To implement the Model Production Delivery Table to identify the asset models to be developed an the level of development at each project stage.
- To implement information modelling activities to achieve the required Employer objectives defined in WI350 (BIM Employer’s Requirements)
- To work with the Department Leads to identify opportunities to improve information processes as well as to facilitate a better decision making in the Design and Construction.
- To ensure that the information is produced following the BEP requirements
- To define information requirements to be included as part of Supply Chain contracts.
- To implement required cybersecurity measures to facilitate the integrity or the PIM and AIM in accordance with PAS 1192-5.
Technical competencies
Have good communication skills (including presentation skills) in English, both written and verbal and the ability to report at both Project and Board level.- A good working knowledge of the:
- BS 1192:2007
- PAS 1192 - 2:2013
- PAS 1192 - 3, - 5, and - 6
- BS 1192:4
- Good understanding of CDM 2015 regulations
- Good understanding of GDPR regulation
- Good understanding of software implementation
- Excellent organisation and people management/ team building skills.
Qualifications, Certifications & Experience
Be educated to degree or higher level or equivalent in a numerate discipline, typically an Engineering discipline. A lower educational level, typically HNC or HND may be acceptable where a very significant level of experience can be demonstrated.- Computer skills – well developed IT skills including Office suit.
- In-depth experience in CAD 3D modelling and CAD systems.
- In-depth experience in Electronic Document Management Systems and Common Data Environment definition.
- Experience in defining requirements, implement and operate collaborative platforms.
- Experience in producing information management documents in infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrate significant experience of complex station/transport interchange infrastructure build and employment in management roles on projects of similar scope and scale, within the construction industry.
- Previous experience of working for major infrastructure clients typically, TfL and other UK or International organisations.
