We are currently looking for exceptional people to join our team and have a great opportunity for a Head Housekeeper.
As the Head Housekeeper you will be responsible for the operation of the housekeeping department and maintaining standards of cleanliness throughout the rooms and public areas of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
- Ensuring the highest quality of cleanliness and maintenance in the bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas with a key emphasis on standards, Health Safety, sustainability and cost control. You will develop, coach and lead your team to support you in all of the above areas.
- Planning team rotas and management of the payroll system, which includes inputting rosters, ratifying hours worked, entering annual leave and sickness.
- The recruitment and selection of the housekeeping team which includes departmental induction, training, and ensuring all right to work documentation is signed off on Day 1 and in line with company protocols
- Managing the purchasing, re-ordering and maintenance of housekeeping supplies and inventory based on departmental budgets and ensuring supplies are being controlled and managed which includes completing stock takes when requested
- Working closely with the maintenance team arranging repairs and maintenance of the rooms and public areas and ensuring maintenance requests are followed up and issues rectified immediately.
- Scheduling and maintaining records of planned deep cleaning
Requirements of the role
- Previous experience as a Head Housekeeper or Housekeeping supervisor with proven experience at problem solving and working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent managerial skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style
- Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry
- Great communication skills.
- Flexibility – to enjoy working different shift patterns and seeing the operation on different days of the week including the weekends as well as mornings, or evenings (no split-shifts here). You may also be required to carry out some duty management shifts as required
