Job description
You love cricket and you want to pass that love of cricket on to as many people as you can. Whether it’s working with a 5 year old who’s picking up a bat for the first time, a talented young pathway player or a gnarled club cricketer who just wants to get better, you love working with the human and helping them get joy from our game.
You’re a highly qualified coach but more than that you love learning. You want to keep developing and learning and become the best that you can be, that learning and development is an everyday part of your life. You bring a lot of energy to your coaching and are an excellent communicator.
You’re equally enthused by leading a group session inspiring children to try the sport as you are by the idea of working 1-2-1 with high performance individuals – in fact it is more important that you love instilling and enthusiasm and a joy for cricket then it is that you are currently a high performance coach – ideally you’re both.
You’re looking for a full time role and challenge in cricket. You want to have an impact and build a lasting and sustainable legacy within cricket to give back to the sport you love.
We are Rugby Cricket Academy. We were founded in 2020 to grow participation and provide a higher quality of coaching in Rugby, Warwickshire. The demand for our coaching programmes has grown and grown.
Now we want to focus on the next stage in our development. We want to give every child the opportunity to try cricket and build lasting relationships with people to give them joy through cricket. Joy through learning new skills, through building confidence, through working in teams and groups and through playing our sport.
We are recruiting a Head Coach to deliver, lead and build these programmes, lead our growth locally and then beyond. You’ll be working independently a lot of the time initially and over time, with your success, building team around you. You will have administrative support and your success will be measured by the growing numbers of people who buy into our coaching programmes on an ongoing basis, the stories they tell their friends and the growth of cricket in the areas we work in.
You will need your own vehicle and a clean driving license to take on this role as well as being either within easy commuting distance of Rugby or willing to locate. Working hours include evenings and weekends and you must be flexible in terms of your working hours.
