The successful candidate will be passionate about the art of cooking and will have a background in the kitchen in a variety of different environments. This position is a very high-paced environment, so we're looking for a person who can handle working with a demanding chef and is capable of multitasking under pressure. The Head Chef will be responsible for getting orders out quickly and efficiently, and will monitor the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a mid-sized kitchen.
- Create recipes for a variety of dishes.
- Prioritise and delegate tasks according to their importance.
- Oversee dish preparation and presentation according to menu specifications and pricing.
- Manage restaurant service staff and train them appropriately so that each staff member's performance meets the company's standards.
- Work with food suppliers to ensure the quality and quantity of food supplied meets the restaurant's standards.
- Hire and train kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
