Job description
The role is based within the Property Fund Accounting team, who provide a vital service to LGIM Real Assets (and its internal and external customers) to ensure the integrity of business through process and controls, but also facilitate the changing landscape within the sector.
The job holder will have principally manage the property datafeed delivery, mainly for the Annuity client, as well as an element of management accounting deliverables for a range of property accounting activities. The role will require strong technical knowledge and an ability to apply this knowledge on a practical basis.
The role requires liaison with members of the senior management team, managing agents, asset management and external advisors. As part of this role, the fund accounting data analyst will also be required to provide support to the wider department
What you'll be doing- Monitor the data integrity and adopt the operational framework to ensure data consistency, completeness and integrity. Where not the case, raise query with primary source or system provider to resolve the acquisition of high-quality data.
- Understand the data control processes, standards and governance throughout the system internally (with the help with the relevant system owners) and externally with third party providers.
- Run semi and fully automated processes to refresh core operational data, ensuring timeliness and consistency.
- Identify areas of data requiring further conditioning then propose rules to improve or eradicate data issues, overseeing
- Obtain and analyse data received from Phoenix system; improving and maintaining controls within the datafeed process.
- Organise and lead regular datafeed meeting with relevant various teams to discuss and resolve discrepancies, including liaising with System Analyst from RADS team to investigate data discrepancies
- Liaise with managing agents to obtain relevant tenancy reports and prepare reconciliation of tenancy schedules to Datafeed.Prepare and communicate new acquisitions datafeed lines to various relevant parties; ensuring new lines are complete and accurate
- Maintaining datafeed working file; review and prepare overrides as appropriate, and reconcile quarterly property valuations
- Take ownership of the queries raised by the Portfolio Managers and assist in their resolution, this could involve tracking issues with trusted third parties (e.g. Managing Agents or raise a tweak in the quality assurance filters).
- Inform stakeholders of failures / remediation steps and timings to deliver critical data fixes.
What we're looking for
- IT & Data Skills - Highly IT literate with demonstrable track record in using excel to an advanced level (Pivot / Advanced formula to aid data quality).
- Eye-for-detail – Ability to highlight missing files, gaps in data and eventually, incorrect data (if any).
- Communication Skills – ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders of varying levels to request and chase for data required in regular and ad-hoc reporting.
- Experience of previous data operations or real estate data role would be advantageous.
- A strong learner with the ability to learn new tools as LGIM evolves from a data point of view.Ability to reconciling multiple datasets to create a master using tools to automate.Understanding of data analysis, business intelligence and visualisation tools will be a bonus.
