At Estabulo we prepare all of our dishes in an authentic manner to give you the true taste of Brazilian Rodizio. Estabulo honours the Brazilian Gaucho’s traditional method of cooking, this involves taking the most delicious and flavoursome cuts of meat, which are then skewered and cooked slowly on open flames.
This method of cooking also means that all the meat is served fresh to the customers table, straight from the grill. Our unlimited dining concept sees customers enjoy as much meat, fresh salads and sides as they like, at a set price. As well as our main menus, we also have a selection of Vegetarian, Halal and Fish dishes on offer.
Estabulo’s beautiful restaurant interior, and dedicated bar area which serves an array of gorgeous cocktails, makes it the perfect place to dine with friends, family or for a romantic date night. We are looking to recruit a Head Chef to join our friendly team in Wakefield.
As Head Chef, you will be responsible in leading our kitchen in preparing amazing food for our customers. Your duties will include creating and cooking meals unique to the restaurant and training and leading all kitchen staff. You are someone capable of preparing uniform dishes. You are also responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
- Approving and polishing dishes before they reach the customer
- Creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality
- Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
- Be fully in charge of hiring, managing and training kitchen staff
- Organising staff shifts and scheduling
- Maintain records of payroll and attendance
- Ultimately responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
- Being responsible for health and safety
- Being responsible for food hygiene practices
- Working closely with management to meet revenue objectives
- Implementing appropriate strategies to resolve adverse trends and improve sales
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as Head Chef
- Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
- Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
- Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
- Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
- Credentials in health and safety training
- Degree in Culinary science or related certificate
