Head Chef
Located: Tunbridge Wells
Annual Salary: Up to £35,000
40 hours per week (07.00 - 15.30)
Monday to Friday position.
This head chef post is within a busy, bustling contract where hospitality is required. We are looking for a creative, innovative person with a passion for food and high standards to join our busy team.
Blue Apple is an experienced independent contract caterer specialising in bringing a bespoke and tailored solution to our clients. We have a diverse range of customers and pride ourselves on delivering fresh food solutions created by happy teams.
We do simple sarnies really well, hospitality that’s heavenly, delectable fine dining and anything else in between is beautifully presented while always being, tasty and delicious. Quite simply, food is our passion.
Our client is opening a fully refurbished office building to enhance their hybrid working environment. As part of this refurbishment they have invested in a brand new kitchen and catering facilities and have chosen Blue Apple to partner with them to support their health and wellbeing ethos, providing exciting healthy food options using fresh produce to their employees.
This will become a showcase site for Blue Apple and develop into a Centre of Excellence, operating as a staff restaurant and driving and developing a hospitality offer. We are looking for passionate and talented individuals to help us make this site truly outstanding.
Key responsibilities are to:
- To ensure that all food prepared is of a high standard and meets with customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring high standards of presentation and customer service.
- To keep within company standards regarding the quality, quantity, consistency, presentation and delivery of all meals/dishes.
- To supervise kitchen staff.
- To ensure meals are produced within necessary cost controls, as directed by the Catering Manager in order to achieve consistently high standards.
- To work within departmental control systems and practices including the monitoring and recording of temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, hot cabinets/serveries in compliance with current regulations and quality control systems.
- To ensure stock is used in strict rotation and that stock held in fridges are segregated as necessary.
- To ensure that statutory and safe working practices are adhered to by all kitchen staff including yourself.
- To ensure that a high standard of hygiene is maintained in all food preparation and kitchen areas ensuring equipment and utensils are maintained in clean and hygienic working order and to report any faults or breakdown in equipment to the Catering Manager.
- To work as part of a team within the catering service.
- To support all company policies and to ensure compliance with current Health and Safety at Work Regulations, Food Safety Act Regulations and COSHH Regulations.
- To perform any other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post, as directed by the catering management.

Salary: £34,000.00-£35,041.00 per year
