JOB TITLE: Maintenance Operative (Handyperson)

LOCATION: Telford Shopping Centre

SHIFT PATTERN: Monday-Friday, Covering 6am – 3pm and 9am – 6pm (alternate weeks). Includes 1 weekend cover in 5.

SALARY: £24,000 - £26,000

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

Handyperson based on site within a team of operatives undertaking planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and building fabric within a retail property environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To carry out planned and reactive maintenance as instructed by the Contract Manager. Including, but not limited, repair and preventative maintenance of building fabric and other duties in support of the rest of the team
• To close / update completed PPM tasks on the site maintenance system
• To carry out water temp checks, ladder inspections and lift call point checks amongst other duties
• To co-ordinate subcontractors’ requirements both for PPM and reactive works
• Ensure company & site, health & safety procedures are followed at all times
• Maintain accurate site records/documentation in association with all site works
• Occasional flexibility of hours when required
• Assist with site emergencies
• Carry out tasks within typical plantroom environments and at high level, working from platforms and ladders when required
• Keep and maintain all company issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner
• To proactively work towards the continued success and support of the contract with a positive approach.
• Complete any other associated task requested by the management

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

• General knowledge of building maintenance
• Resides geographically near to site
• Basic IT skills
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge of health & safety in the workplace

DESIRABLE

• Previous experience of working within a maintenance team.
• IPAF Licence
