About The Role
Practice Plus Group Hospital Emersons Green and Devizes are looking for somebody to join the team providing small works, which includes making good, painting, decorating and repairs to fixtures and fittings.
The role is largely to maintain and improve the Hospital decorative interior appearance and does not involve electrical works, hot works, water works or machine works.
The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and will have proven experience and a keen attention to detail. They will be friendly, approachable, flexible and motivated and possess a genuine interest in the patients that visit and staff that work in the Hospital and Surgical Centre. The role seeks a conscientious individual that is pro-active, adaptable, and versatile. They should also be able to work across two sites, one in Bristol and the other in Devizes.
Tasks in this role are but not limited to;
- To prepare surfaces for decoration.
- To apply all types of paints and varnishes to a variety of surfaces.
- To work in areas occupied by patients, public and staff, having regard for the health & safety of occupants within that area.
- To work with tools and equipment in a difficult working environment.
- To work with other building trades as required.
- To work safely with equipment, at heights and in all areas of a busy hospital.
- To paint finished stud walling, including priming of surfaces.
- To fix free issue items such as towel holders disabled rails, etc.
- To specify stores and equipment required for the task in hand.
- To undertake training relevant to the job as required.
- To observe statutory and other regulatory requirements.
- To carry out other such reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post as may be determined by the Senior Management Team
About You
- NVQ2, C&G 6707 or equivalent Painting and Decorating qualification.
- Experience with compiling and working to Risk Assessment & Method Statement.
- Experience of Working at Height and associated access equipment.
- Previous painting and decorating experience with a keen eye for detail
- Demonstrable competence and practical skills working in a care-based environment
- Willingness to support our Supplies team in driving our Luton Van between sites during staffing shortages
