Job role: Gym Supervisor
Salary : £26,000 pa + generous commission
Job type : Full time (40h per week), permanent
Location : Daylesford, Gloucestershire
About The Role
Our client is set to launch a new private members club, set in the heart of the Cotswolds countryside. They are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Gym Supervisor to join their fantastic new team in this luxurious setting.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Fitness, the Gym Supervisor will support the Head of Fitness in ensuring the member experience, cleanliness and the health and safety is always executed to the highest of standards. This includes:
- Assisting with the Club opening, set-up, prep and closing procedures;
- Maximising member experience, member usage and member participation through training, coaching and role-modelling expertise with the gym team in delivering all club products;
- Assisting with the smooth running of a professional, clean and safe gym floor and equipment;
- Leading the team to ensure that all gym equipment is always working and clean, and that signage, member communication and music levels are consistent and delivering the finest member experience;
- Ensuring availability of Personal Trainers is fully up to date and there is full coverage at peak demand times;
- Assisting the Head of Fitness with leading the gym team to deliver stringent ways of operating standards, always ensuring health and safety compliance;
- Working with the Head of Fitness to ensure that a dynamic, varied and engaging member’s programme of activities is provided and delivered;
- To assist with daily checks of health and safety, equipment cleanliness and stock control in all areas of the department;
- Assisting the Head of Fitness with class timetable scheduling and class offering;
- Maintain a high level of personal presentation, in keeping with the Club grooming and uniform guidelines;
- Deliver excellence both in terms of the member experience and programme of member events and five-star club standards;
- Demonstrate knowledge of club services and engage with members about their activities, seeking ways to improve their experience at every opportunity;
- Attend and support member events and activities to ensure member engagement and loyalty;
- Dealing with any member complaints or feedback immediately with the support of the Head of Fitness when necessary;
- Demonstrate professionalism and discretion at all times;
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the gym equipment, wet facilities, club services and policies and procedures;
- Ensuring Personal Trainers attend and complete the appropriate training online and in-person as appropriate;
- Ensure required maintenance of gym kit or equipment is reported immediately for repair via the Head of Fitness or direct with the supplier;
- Building good relationships with equipment suppliers and contractors to ensure consistent delivery of the Service Level Agreements;
- Supporting the Head of Fitness with the recruitment of a great team, inductions, training, and development of a high performing team;
- When the Head of Fitness is not available the gym supervisor will take responsibility in his absence;
- Acting as first point of contact and taking ownership for any gym team member queries or concerns;
- Supporting the Head of Fitness to ensure weekly Fitness team meetings and 1-2-1s are delivered and followed-up with minutes, and ensuring that these action points are followed up;
- Ensuring that the front of house team is up to speed with gym products, courses, member events and booking procedures when dealing with telephone queries or walk-ins;
- Take responsibility for the group exercise offering for wellness club and spa, creating schedules, reviewing class trends and trailing new class offerings;
- Participate in team meetings and other initiatives to be aware of any current class or equipment updates, events, VIPs or departmental changes, bringing suggestions for improvement;
- Building good working relationships with key stakeholders: Wellness Spa, Marketing, Events, People Team, Merchandising, F&B and IT.

About You
- Essential: Level 3 qualified (minimum)
- 2-3 years of experience (minimum)
- Experience with group exercise
- Previous team management experience
