They provide surveys, civil works, fibre and cable installations, network expansions, overlays, maintenance, and much more. They are the experts in the industry, with a full suite of optical testing capabilities, including PMD/CD and a network infrastructure audit, decommissioning and disposal.
The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Fibre Splicer who will be responsible for splicing and testing fibre optic cables in accordance with industry standards and client specifications. You will work on-site and carry out various fibre optic installations and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Splicing and testing of fibre optic cables
- Interpretation of client specifications and industry standards
- Installation of fibre optic cables, ducts, and accessories
- Conducting site surveys and preparing site reports
- Providing technical support to other team members
- Maintaining project documentation and producing progress reports
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in fibre splicing within the telecommunications or fibre industry
- Experience with blown fibre installation and an understanding of fibre types, including PON fibre
- Experience with OTDR testing and analyzing trace results to pinpoint any problems
