Career Level B / Professional (NHS Band 7)
Full time 37.5 hours a week but part time considered
12 Months Fixed Term Contract
Our Charity
St Andrew’s Healthcare is a charity providing specialist mental healthcare services with sites in Northampton, Birmingham and Basildon.. We work in partnership with a number of NHS, voluntary, educational and research organisations to deliver a range of specialist inpatient and community mental healthcare services, education and research that helps to improve the lives of people with complex mental health needs.
St Andrews Essex Hospital
People receiving care here are experiencing significant difficulties, which may be related to their personality, a mental illness, or trauma; and many have complex presentations that underpin a wide range of risk behaviours. Currently there are a combination of adult mental health and low secure wards on site, some which provide short term intensive care for acutely unwell people experiencing a crisis, and some which provide comprehensive rehabilitation over an extended period of time.
We are seeking an individual who comprehends how essential collaboration and co-production are to the successful delivery of impactful evidence based care; and we desire a team member who is passionate about continually improving the quality of our patient experience, and who is able to think innovatively about the delivery of psychological provisions. We anticipate that candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will be able to evidence the application of these to reduce distress in others. Importantly, applicants must have previous experience of working with people experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems, in either an inpatient or community setting.
The Role and Person
You would be clinically responsible for delivering outcome based psychological therapy with working age adults, on our acute adult mental health ward caring for men; with clinical reach across our PICU’s and recovery and rehabilitation ward as required. We are looking for a clinician who is clearly able to demonstrate experience in delivering therapy according to evidenced based guidelines; who has the ability to work both autonomously, as well as collaboratively with other teams and professionals.
Within the role, you will be encouraged to develop your strengths and skills through a robust structure of clinical supervision and opportunities for professional development. St Andrews has an excellent record of providing opportunities for research, training and continuing professional development so you will also have access to peer support from the wider Charity, as well as regular CPD events. In order to be eligible for the role, the successful applicant will be registered with the appropriate regulatory bodies e.g. BABCP, or in the process of applying for registration.
Our patients and your colleagues will expect you to live the St Andrew’s CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence every single day
We offer an excellent package that includes:
- Excellent professional and career development and training opportunities
