The Club
Situated in 42 acres of landscaped grounds adjacent to the River Thames in Fulham, The Hurlingham Club is recognised as one of the world’s finest private member clubs. Since its opening in 1869, The Hurlingham Club’s croquet and tennis lawns, botanical gardens and stately Georgian Clubhouse have made it a sought-after destination for exclusive sporting and social activities.
The Department
The Fitness team are a large, friendly team responsible for looking after the members and their guests with regards the indoor sports facilities; Racquet and Fitness Centres, Dance Studio, Gym, Indoor Pool, Squash, Treatment room, Crèche as well as the Outdoor Pool in the summer months along with some seasonal outdoor sports activities.
The Role
As Gym Instructor you will work an average of 30 hours per week, over four days, including one in four weekend shifts.
Typical duties will include:
· Responsibility of the daily operations of the Club’s gymnasium.
· Carrying out induction and reprogramme sessions.
· Conducting a variety of group fitness sessions.
· Checking gym equipment daily to ensure it is fit for purpose and to report any faulty equipment.
Our Ideal Candidate
Candidates will embody our Club values; excellence, responsibility and courtesy.
You will hold a current and recognised qualification that allows you to enter REPs at Level 2 or above. Previous experience of exercise programming, fitness testing and inductions is essential.
You will have proven communication skills and excellent teamwork skills. You be motivational, friendly and encouraging when helping members use the gym and equipment safely. You will have worked in a similar environment and role, and have proven experience of carrying out inductions and programme writing.
