Grower | Cambridgeshire
£40k starting salary
This year your holiday is in Dorset, next year it could be in the Dominican Republic.
Fed up with working in glass that is not fit for purpose? Time divided between people management and growing and as a result, the crop suffers?
You won't get that here. We are working with a business that has a 22Ha state-of-the-art site. They are currently building a brand new packhouse that will be operational within the next month. This means that all the tech, software and facilities are the best that they can be, and that won't cause you any headaches.
Any grower will know what's involved in the role. Managing irrigation, P&D, and nutrition. But this is a chance to develop yourself too. You can become a specialist in salad production as well as get the support to study your FACTS and BASIS.
That's right, you can finally get the self-development you deserve.
You won't have any direct reports, but you will be working closely with the team leaders and crop workers to make sure the plants have the best conditions for growth.
The role is hands-on, and there's no doubt you will be working hard. But there's something rewarding about seeing products you grow on a supermarket shelf, right?
Now, the business. They are a very successful salad grower that supplies UK retailers. They have 3 sites across the UK and are continually looking for ways to invest. They are the first business in the world to use purely renewable heating by capturing waste heat. The site that you will be working at grows nearly 10% of the UK's tomatoes and salad.
