REMOTE WORKING - 1 DAY A WEEK ON SITE IN MANCHESTER - INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL ONCE A QUARTER
In line with the Group EH & S Policy, the role holder will be responsible for supporting the maintenance of the Group's EH & S & risk management system at the Corporate level, known as the Framework. These incorporate minimum acceptable control standards against which all parts of group will be expected to operate. The standards are designed to ensure that Executive management discharge their control obligations in this key risk area.
The role holder will also undertake an independent programme of site based audits to assess compliance with the Framework delivering executive management's assurance needs, reporting the results to the Board Committees in the business, along with other key EH & S performance measures submitted across the Group in line with the Framework
- Maintenance of the Framework, ensuring this reflects relevant changes in legislation, communicating changes to all parts of the organisation.
- Support for any future development of the Framework, or the system platform upon which it operates.
- Undertaking EH & S site audits specified as part of an agreed schedule.
- Maintenance of audit work programmes which align to the Framework.
- Oversight of the Group's EH & S issues tracking process as supported by the Integrated Risk Management System, liaising with sites to ensure that the status of actions is maintained up to date.
- Undertaking investigations for specified site-based accident/incident investigations.
- System administration of the Integrated Risk Management System as this relates to EH & S, including the specification of system enhancements.
- Acting as a consultant to site management for specified assignments agreed via the Group senior management.
- Day to day responsibility for EH & S compliance at head office.
- Collation of performance reports to the Group Board Committees, and external bodies based upon data supplied from across the company.
- Coordination of annual Group EH&S Awards programme.
The Successful Applicant

- A chartered member of IOSH and/or an industry recognised qualification e.g. NEBOSH.
- Experience developing and maintaining H & S management systems within a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Extensive risk based H & S auditing experience.
- Credible experience in H & S, including operations experience in recent permanent role.
- Track record of project management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to operate across all levels of the organisation
- You will need a proven track record in internal auditing, multi site HSE management or both
- A professional, diligent, responsible, detail conscious approach which generates credibility and confidence from others.
- Confident and assertive with a self-motivated approach and flexible attitude.
- The ability to work in partnership and across cultures to achieve results.
- Driven to support continuous improvement.
What's on Offer
£60,000 to £70,000 plus benefits
