Our client, a global full-service social marketing, creative, media, and technical disciplines, all grounded in a unique understanding of online culture and social behaviours, has an opening for Group Financial Controller to join their central London based finance team on a hybrid basis (3 days a week working from home and 2 days in the office).
As the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for producing accurate and timely financial information to assess Group performance, ensure financial stability and provide the basis to inform investment decision making to continue a successful track record of organic and inorganic growth.
Responsibilities:
Monthly Financial Reporting
- Coordinate Group month-end reporting process; managing the consolidation of +20 subsidiaries across APAC, EMEA and NA
- Directly manage the team of Group Reporting Manager (GRM), Group Treasury Manager (GTM) and together with overseeing the Group Finance Assistant (GFA)
- To prepare the Group consolidation under IFRS for review with Group Finance Director (GFD) and Group COO highlighting technical accounting entries and variations to forecast
- Set and ensure adherence to an internal Group Reporting Timetable, working with local Finance Leads to overcome any issues
- Identify and evolve KPI’s that enable better financial management of the Group
- Produce monthly reporting pack and associated information, shaping management information reporting to meet evolving KPI’s
Treasury & TWC
- Manage the GTM to develop a robust treasury function applied efficiently and consistently across the Group
- Collaborate with GFD and GTM to develop TWC KPI’s and utilise reporting improvements to measure actuals against the KPI’s and drive working capital improvements with local Finance Leads
- Ensure cash pooling policy strikes the right balance between meeting operational requirements and sweeping excess funds to fund growth objectives (organic and M&A)
- Implement FX risk mitigation/management strategies with appropriate documentation and accounting treatment
Budget & Quarterly Re-forecasts (QRF)
- Continuous development of Workday Adaptive Planning to improve the accuracy and detail the Group Budget/QRF’s; ?ltering requests from various stakeholders and collaborating with consultants and Finance Leads to embed change
- Set the internal reporting timetable to meet deadlines; managing the set-up, reporting and version control on Workday Adaptive
- Provide the ?rst review of variances and shaping of a QRF; gaining more speci?c market detail from the APAC Finance Director and GRM (EMEA & NA)
- Update monthly reporting pack, shaping management information reporting to meet evolving KPI’s
Statutory Financial Reporting & Audit
- Be the key point of contract for statutory auditors together with oversight of local statutory audit teams
- Provide information to facilitate audit scoping, assess for reasonableness and set internal timetable and resourcing accordingly
- Ensure reporting is under IFRS and provide technical assistance to Finance Leads across the Group together with the production of detailed accounting memos as required
- Responsibility for producing Financial Statements (IFRS/Companies Act) through third party financial statements preparation team
M&A, Systems & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with GFD and Group COO to review acquisitions for consistent Group/IFRS mapping and onboard onto Workday Adaptive together with supporting the new ?nance team through the reporting process
- Be the Adaptive super-user
- Continue to enhance Adaptive capabilities against developing KPI’s and collaborate with the Group Financial Analyst to drive dashboard reporting within to Sisense (BI tool)
- Maintain the relationship with consultant to trigger automated Deltek WorkBook (ERP) data load and Google Sheet output for MI production to/from Adaptive
- Provide additional information as requested by senior stakeholders
Ideally you will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent) with +5 years post-qualified experience with experience of multi-market and currency IFRS Group consolidation with previous exposure to Workday Adaptive. Previous advertising/marketing or service sector experience would also be preferred.
