Job description
We are looking for a chef with grill experience to join our small team. We are an independent business with a great reputation in the flourishing business district of Wellington Place. The kitchen does a lot of covers in a short period of time, so the ideal applicant has to be able to work well under pressure and work well as part of a small team in an open kitchen.The work / life balance is good, you won't be doing overly long, antisocial hours. Early starts are 8am and a late finish is 10pm and at the moment we only open Monday to Friday as our opening times and busy periods mirror the office workers around us! Weekends will be required at some point next year, but hours are fairly distributed across the team and we do our best to accomodate what everyone wants. Some of our chefs work 4 x 10hr shifts instead of 5 x 8hr shifts as an example.Although a small team, you will be trained on all sections of the kitchen and have the opportunity of taking on more responsibility. There is also opportunity for more hours on events or cover.
