Are you passionate about the environmental sustainability agenda and ready to lead on the transformational changes in response to the Climate and Ecological Emergency? Lancaster University Students’ Union is recruiting to the fixed-term post of Green Lancaster Projects Assistant to support an outstanding candidate with their journey on this critical agenda.
You will join the Green Lancaster team supporting the delivery of student-led environmental sustainability projects, campaigns and events on campus. ‘Green Lancaster’ is the collaborative initiative of Lancaster University and Lancaster University Students’ Union aiming to inspire practical solutions to the environmental challenges of the 21st Century. Green Lancaster facilitates education and engagement for the sustainable development era.
The Green Lancaster Projects Assistant will be responsible for supporting existing sustainability initiatives but also guiding student-led ideas via a project planning and approval process.
Applicants will have a passion and interest for the holistic nature of the environmental sustainability agenda. A general understanding of the latest innovations within the agenda areas of energy supply and demand, resources and the circular economy, agriculture and biodiversity and transport/mobility is expected (the ‘Green Lancaster’ core project areas). Applicants are expected to outline in their supporting statements their existing experience or interaction with projects in these subject areas.
