Job description
Having cemented our position as one of the South West’s most established breweries, along with the successful launch of our world class new production and taproom venue in Bristol in 2022, we have entered an exciting new phase of growth for the business. Our Warehouse and Distribution space is building a new cold storage facility on site as part of this and we have recently grown our delivery team too. We are looking for a Warehouse and Distribution Manager to lead this department and ensure the final part of our beer journey operates smoothly, looks to improve our processes and ensure our beer meets our customers expectations.
The Role
Reporting to our Head Brewer, we are looking for someone to be in charge of incoming and outgoing goods, material and supply for the packaging area and managing the distribution via our delivery channels to our customers in Bristol and Nationally. You will lead and support the Warehouse and Distribution team, which includes our warehouse assistant and 3 delivery drivers with a fleet of two vans.
We are looking for someone who can identify ways to improve our Warehouse and Distribution systems and processes to support the growth of the business, with efficient product flow while minimising manual handling.
You work closely across a number of departments, including the Sales team and with the Brew/ Cellar Manager and Packaging Manager with regular meetings to schedule the work. You will also attend daily morning team meetings where we talk about the day.
Main Responsibilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Moving and managing stock into the Distribution warehouse from the packaging area and waiting bays.
- Liaison with the brew team, contract brewers and courier company on beer coming in
- Liaison with sales and marketing team on when new beers go on sale
- Leading the W&D team, including managing resource and responsibility, focusing on health and safety, hygiene, quality, workflow and efficiency
- Packing pallets to orders provided by Sales team by 2pm following day
- Loading pallets onto Couriers
- Monitoring stock levels, performing weekly and monthly stock takes and report ageing beer to the Head Brewer
- Storage and rotation of stock in the warehouse to ensure smooth running and FIFO system.
- Maintenance of the Wiper and True vehicle fleet, including tax, insurance, regular inspections and keeping them clean.
- Receiving incoming goods
- Attending weekly meetings with Brew/ Cellar and Packaging Manager for upcoming goods deliveries and outgoing deliveries of non beers stocks and items
- Preparing all packaging material before each packaging day to be ready for the packaging team
- Weekly stock counts to ensure that our stock system is always accurate and updating in our brewery software.
- Keeping forklift and all the other necessary warehouse equipment charged and maintained
- Managing a delivery log for incoming goods
- Managing and keeping FIFO system of the picking area that is used from online shop and delivery drivers daily
- Keeping the warehouse safe, clean and tidy
- Managing all warehouse and distribution risk assessments
- Maintain all warehouse and delivery equipment in perfect shape
- Managing and planning holiday covers to make sure that the warehouse and distribution functions are operating smoothly
About You
- Forklift, stacker licence required
- Drivers Licence
- Delivery Driver experience
- Previous experience of warehouse and distribution/logistics work at management level.
- Good administration and IT skills, able to navigate databases and spreadsheets.
Work environment
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud
- Temperatures may vary seasonally in work areas and a lot of work will take place in the cold storage unit
- You will be supplied with personal protective equipment

Hours: Monday to Fridays each week approximately 8-4pm
Salary: £28,000-£32,000 per annum depending on experience.
