Intermediate Interior Designer
Dwell Living, a luxury design boutique specializing in high-end residential and commercial projects, is seeking an Intermediate Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. As an Intermediate Interior Designer, you will collaborate with a talented group of designers, assist in managing projects, and contribute to the creation of exceptional interior designs. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the design team to develop creative and innovative design concepts for luxury residential and commercial projects.
- Assist in managing assigned projects from initial concept to final implementation, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Contribute to the production of design deliverables, including mood boards, space planning, material and furniture selection, and 3D visualizations.
- Prepare detailed construction drawings and specifications under the guidance of our senior designer.
- Coordinate and collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
- Participate in client presentations, effectively communicating design concepts and incorporating client feedback.
- Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, ensure design intent is maintained, and address any on-site challenges.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to bring fresh ideas and innovation to the design process.
- Assist senior designers in mentoring and guiding junior team members.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to create FF&E packages.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of design standards and processes within the firm.
- Uphold the company's commitment to exceptional customer care and foster positive client relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a design firm or architectural practice.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other design software.
- Strong knowledge of space planning, furniture arrangement, and materials selection.
- Familiarity with construction documentation and coordination processes.
- Ability to create compelling 2D and 3D visualizations to communicate design concepts.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented with a strong eye for design aesthetics and quality.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations (specifically for the province of BC) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) is an asset.

Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
