Job description
This role will create design work for Brighton & Hove and Metrobus, Brighton City Sightseeing and Spirit of Sussex private hire services.
- Support the brand rollout for Brighton & Hove Buses by integrating the new logo and brand style to materials and documents across internal and external channels and touchpoints, from infrastructure to marketing literature.
- Provide marketing concepts and content for campaigns and materials.
- Work in collaboration with colleagues on multi-channel campaigns, supporting projects from start to finish, including photoshoots, layout concepts and preparing print ready artwork in a range of formats.
- Create content for digital channels providing a fresh and consistent look, by creating and updating assets for our websites and social channels.
- Produce quality, printed literature, working on a mix of leaflets, booklets, timetables, posters and merchandise.
- Develop creative and design that appeals to existing and new audiences encouraging them to travel by bus.
- Respond to requests for design and multimedia from the marketing communications team and wider business to support the organisation’s goals.
- Be a brand guardian ensuring visual identities remain strong, consistent, creative and relevant to each audience.
- Update and maintain internal databases of design, photography, film, brand, projects and campaigns.
- Work independently and cooperatively on multiple projects to meet deadlines and work as part of a team to provide support to other team members as appropriate.
- Creative and focused - you approach projects with a balance of curiosity, creativity and practicality, working efficiently and delivering to agreed timelines.
- Strong typographic skills and brand awareness while exploring new ways of working and presenting our brands.
- Confident in Adobe CC suite – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects, and comfortable in MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to plan and prioritise work. This is likely to include working on multiple briefs with hard deadlines in a busy, fast-paced office environment.
- Create clear and engaging information.
- Experience of creating design assets for multiple marketing communications channels, platforms and campaigns.
- Skilled in interpreting creative and artwork briefs.
- Good communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence others with your ideas.
- Able to work alone and as part of a team.
- Passionate about design - you want more people to ditch their cars and travel by bus, understanding that the role of designer can influence the appeal of swapping modes of transport, the experience of the journey and customer loyalty.
- Degree in graphic design, art, multimedia, marketing communications or similar.
- Film, photography and editing software experience.
- Experience in the bus or other travel and tourism related sectors.
