The Purpose of the Role
The Graphic Design & Video Editor role is pivotal within Post Offices marketing department, reporting directly to the Head of Creative and Content. You’ll respond to briefs to produce a range of high-quality video and printed collateral including posters for branch and media assets (press, OOH, digital display, social video etc). You’ll also be part of the content working group, sharing and developing ideas to communicate the Post Office brand narrative, supporting with any graphical and video editing requirements. You’ll work closely with the other areas of the marketing department, helping them to self-serve creative where possible using our DAM system. This is a critical role, shaping the brand purpose, driving revenue, customer satisfaction, and profitability for Post Office.
Principal Accountabilities
- Imaginative and able to guide creative with your vision. Whether that be conceptual, developing a strategic response to the practicalities of creating a physical poster or a web asset.
- Manage a production schedule of multiple simultaneous projects and differing timelines. Able to prioritize what’s important and deliver to deadlines. Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders from across the business to ensure briefs are met.
- A creative guardian. Great at reviewing assets, interpreting brand guidelines and providing feedback or support.
- A self-starter who is comfortable taking a brief and kicking off a creative concept.
- Technically capable, able to seamless edit video one minute and develop print ready assets the next.
- Comfortable managing the production process. That could be an external agency or in-house.
- Keen to understand customer needs and deliver creative based on insight.
- Works well with others when forming ideas, such as script writers, musicians etc.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Demonstrable experience in creative development for brand and trading activity.
- Prior experience in a similar graphic designer/video editor role ideally within the in-house environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Creative and innovative with a passion for design
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks whilst working to tight timeframes to meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management.
- Highly organised approach to work; with a strong focus on accuracy, production processes and producing high quality work
- Results oriented and solution focused, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with tight deadlines
- Can demonstrate confidence, resilience, and the ability to be proactive, while also being able to follow instructions and provide support to the Head of Creative and Content.
