Mercer is seeking candidates for the following position based in the London office:
Graphic Design Specialist

We will count on you to:
- Create, manage and deliver creative designs for internal and external clients in various forms of media within a variety of projects including brand design and newsletter documents etc.
- Manage production throughout the lifecycle of the creative project, liaising with suppliers directly
- Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders and be able to identify the creative requirements for the engagement of the clients’ employees
- Produce design projects to a high standard and be responsible for the design brief including liaising with the Creative Team Lead/Senior Creative and requesting advice, proof checks or stage development meetings where necessary to ensure it meets client expectations and always before final approval/delivery
- Work with the design team to ensure the integrity of the original concept, collaborating cross team to exceed client expectations, delivering high quality work
- Understand and work within brand and corporate guidelines where relevant
- Use your experience and knowledge to identify and resolve design, artwork and print challenges
- Communicate progress at every stage of the design and artwork process for the smooth running of work and planning schedules
- Attend onsite client meetings and workshops (when required), mainly within London.
- Work within a budget (set in hours) and complete the project within the allocated budget
- Continually look for innovative formats and products that could be packaged and sold as part of the Communications offering
- Provide the business with best value by estimating and managing time accurately ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality
- Produce dummies, mock-ups and presentation boards to a high level of finish for internal and external presentation
- Take responsibility for continuous personal development and learning, helping to identify objectives and opportunities for skills development
- Make available detailed project notes to assist in the smooth handover of work during a foreseeable absence
What you need to have:
- Excellent Adobe Creative Suite skills – particularly in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- A portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of both print and digital based work and clients, that demonstrate high knowledge of print production methods
- High quality retouching skills, typography and layout skills
- Accuracy in everything and close attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain in an articulate manner, the thinking and rationale behind the creative
- A team player who is able to adapt and support and find creative solutions for the Communications team
- Great time management and the ability to meet deadlines on each project, being aware of the project’s budget
What makes you stand out:
- 3-6 years design industry/agency experience
- Track record of producing quality, creative designs for multiple clients through multiple channels
- Excellent time management skills and experience in working under pressure to strict deadlines across multiple projects
- Multi-disciplined with good interpersonal and relationship building skills
- A good level of understanding of data management for print production
