Coronation Street has an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Artist to facilitate the smooth-running of the Graphics Design operation. You will generate artwork and produce all graphic and printed material required for action and dressing purposes relevant to the script requirements and Design brief. You will work with a variety of Art Directors, Standby Art Directors and Props teams alongside the Production Designer & Supervising Art Director.
Key responsibilities:
- Research and create prop graphics using a variety of computer software and materials.
- Liaise with Clearance team re copyright; legalities etc.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with specialist suppliers.
- Liaise with various production personnel such as the Head of Design; Art Directors; Standby Art Directors; Props and Dressing crews.
- Operate and maintain specialist equipment & printers.
- Possess a high degree of creative and organisational skills with precise attention to detail.
- Produce and be responsible for the safe application of graphics as required e.g. on boards and also on to vehicles.
- Create digital graphics for on-screen use on a various range of technical equipment.
- All other associated duties in connection with the creation and production of Prop Graphics.
- Day to day contact and dealings with a diverse range of internal and external production personnel from a wide range of production disciplines.
- Apply Graphics to props and present them ready for filming to a high standard.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and identify and adapt to new technologies.
- A commitment to a sustainable approach to graphic design works.
To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:
Minimum role criteria:
- Flexible approach to work and working hours.
- Experience working in a pressurised work environment, delivering to tight production deadlines.
- Excellent knowledge of computer image manipulation and graphics techniques.
- Proven experience of a minimum of 12 cumulative months working as a Graphic Designer in Television drama.
- Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge and ability to proficiently use design software - illustrator & Photoshop.
- Excellent proven track record of a wide range of Graphic Design projects.
