The University of Exeter is seeking to appoint a Graduation Assistant to support and assist with the dedicated delivery to students and staff of the administration and operational execution of multiple annual graduation ceremonies, at which over 7000 students, their guests and over 500 staff attend.


This new full-time post is available immediately on a permanent basis


This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.


Summary of the role

The role is line-managed by the Graduation Coordinator and the Graduation Team is placed within Education Services. Education Services staff cross 9 different teams and provide the core and critical teaching support for all University of Exeter students as well as all University of Exeter staff. This role will act as support for the Graduation Coordinator for graduation activities at all University campuses. This will include answering student enquiries through our Student Information Desk system but this role will have a focus for the administrative, printing and communication support for completed student awards. This is a hybrid role with some days possible to work from home and some days requiring a presence on campus. On-campus working is required particularly for print administration and during the delivery of the graduation ceremonies.


The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a passion to exceed customer expectations and promote a customer-focused approach across multiple University teams, will have good communication skills and excellent attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks. The successful role-holder will be based at the Streatham campus due to operational on-campus requirements, but the role-holder would be expected to be flexible between working in office locations and working from home rotations according to the needs of the business. The role-holder is expected to be present in-person at all graduation ceremony days.
