Our Transport Planning & Mobility Solutions team is part of our People & Places Solutions business.

About the opportunities
The Transport Planning & Mobility Solutions team at Jacobs is one of the largest in the UK & Ireland, with a varied client base and strong pipeline of work supporting national and international project delivery.
We are looking for talented graduates to come and join the Scotland and Ireland Team. Based in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Cork and Dublin we deliver for local clients as well as supporting our colleagues across the UK&I and globally.
Our skillsets cover the full remit of transport planning and include transport modelling/appraisal, active travel, streets design, traffic engineering, junction design, and transport policy and strategy.
Some of our recent nationally and regionally significant projects include:
- Strategic Transport Projects Review 2 (Transport Scotland)
- Edinburgh City Centre Transformation (City of Edinburgh Council)
- Glasgow Integrated Transport Appraisal (Glasgow City Council)
- Fountainbridge and other new cycle route design (City of Edinburgh Council)
- National Cycle Network Route 78 (Sustrans Scotland)
You will have the support of a mentor, our management team and experts to guide your progress. You will also be given the ability to pursue relevant business and technical training to support your career development. as well as the freedom to grow your network and knowledge base to create innovative solutions.
This opportunity is for transport planning and traffic engineering graduate roles in our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.
Here’s What You’ll Need:- An interest in transport planning/traffic engineering such as:
- Transport modelling/appraisal
- Active travel schemes
- Mass transit schemes
- Junction improvement schemes
- Place-making schemes
- Transport policy/strategy
- Be working towards a relevant Degree or Masters level qualification such as Geography, Planning, Economics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics, Data/Computer Science, Civil or other Engineering
- To be a flexible and innovative self-starter who brings a curious mindset to finding solutions for real-world problems
- The adaptability to learn, unlearn and re-prioritise as things around you change
- You must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
