Graduate Software Engineer – Java (R0200282)
Location - Templecombe

Thales (Templecombe) have an opportunity for a Graduate software engineer to work on cutting edge technology delivering integrated air defence solutions and military management information systems. The successful candidate will work within an integrated project team and will develop their skills through being involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
Duties
- Design and coding of software
- Software requirements analysis and requirements management
- Software test planning and execution
- Conducting all aspects of the software development process in accordance with company processes and standards
Skills, qualifications and experience
- A minimum of a BSc/BEng (Hons) degree in a subject with a significant computing content e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Games Development, Machine Learning
- Appreciation of software requirements analysis, specification & design
- Understanding of the principles and levels of software testing
- Knowledge of software development lifecycles and methodologies
- Practical experience of programming in Java
- Practical experience in a number of stages of the software engineering lifecycle
In addition any of the following would be beneficial
- Understanding of relational databases and SQL
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- Understanding of software configuration control
- Understanding of Web services design and development
- Understanding of HCI/Ux design
- Experience of working as a member of a software development team
