What you'll be doing:

Graduate Nutritionist

The nutritionist will be responsible, in collaboration with Compass Group UK Business & Industry (B&I) sector, for supporting the workplaces we serve in all aspects of nutrition. More specifically, they will be proactive and forward thinking in optimising the food offer and health promotion for all stakeholders to inform positive lifestyle behaviours across the B&I community. Through recipe analysis software and menu planning systems they will support the food offer to meet relevant legislation, targets and brand standards as well as translating nutrition information into simple messages for customers and clients. The nutritionist will work with wider teams such as marketing and culinary to showcase initiatives that promote healthier and sustainable diets as we aim to fuel the nation’s workforces in a healthy way.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Recipe and menu analysis on IT systems
  • Attending workplace catering sites
  • Delivering nutrition and health promotion activities to a wide variety of audiences
  • Communicating nutrition information through posters, blogs and social media posts
  • Signposting healthier options to influence consumer purchasing behaviours
  • Review menus and produce feedback on the nutritional content of the offer
  • Proactively work with multidisciplinary teams to promote healthy and sustainable diets that meet the needs of the business, clients and customers.
  • Create guides which support catering teams to host health and sustainability activities
  • Effectively engage customers and catering teams whilst on site and remotely
  • Maintain sound knowledge of nutritional requirements for adults
  • Translating complex nutrition information into simple facts and figures
  • Deliver training to catering teams on nutrition and allergen processes
  • Working in partnership with other members of the nutrition team to share knowledge and best practice
  • Support other B&I initiatives to be agreed on a case by case basis.
Who you are:

Our ideal Graduate Nutritionist will:

  • Graduate of an Association for Nutrition accredited nutrition degree from university
  • Work experience in the foodservice and nutrition industry would be welcomed
  • Confident in communicating to groups and controlling challenging meetings/conversations
  • Able to demonstrate a strong interest in health promotion in the area of adult nutrition and public health
  • Proficient at inputting, managing and reporting on data using IT software and excel
  • Must be willing to travel with some overnight stays
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates Compass values and recognition principles
  • Ability to quickly gain credibility with key stakeholder groups
  • Attention to detail
  • Professional, organised, presentable, efficient and self-motivated
  • A passion for keeping up to date with research and national health events
  • Sound written and verbal communication; desirable social media skills and experience of writing blogs
  • Holds current British driving license
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to manage a busy diary independently
