Why us?

Insanity Group is a privately owned group of media companies operating from offices in London and Los Angeles. We represent top tier artists in the music, broadcast, live and ‘digital first’ markets and operate a record label with Sony Music.

We are in hyper growth with close to 80 colleagues globally. And we don’t plan on stopping there…

There’s something different about us and when people join us, it's the first thing they comment on. We do things differently and it’s not accidental. Some of our most successful colleagues started with us as an assistant. Some have been with us for more than 10 years! At our core, we know that Insanity is all about its people, whether that’s our colleagues or our artists.

Our role is to empower our clients to tell their stories and our talent are at the heart of every decision we make. We go more than the extra mile to break down barriers and achieve that. We aren't afraid of challenge and we like to robustly confront old, stuffy ways of doing things. You won’t find a hierarchy here. We embrace tech. We embrace flexibility. We collaborate like you never saw. We are not afraid of risk and we make bold decisions. We believe that building deep professional connections is the best way to do business but we also believe that clients need to be protected and we aren’t afraid to do that either.

We also believe that the role of artist manager, record label and live agent is changing. Our clients rightly expect more and we love to impress. Our mission is to never get complacent, to lead the way and be a noisy, bold, ambitious and ethical business that continues to turn heads.

Why you?

We know some companies may say no two days are the same to lure you in and then reality sets in. That’s not the case with us, so you’ll need to be able to think fast on your feet and actively tackle those inevitable last-minute surprises with a degree of confidence and pragmatism.

Our team operate on a different frequency and so if you’re looking for a calm 9-5, that’s OK, but we aren’t for you.

We are looking for an exceptional team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a close-knit team and the capacity to effectively work across various areas of our ever-expanding business. Insanity is a highly collaborative business, and the Business Affairs team works in close partnership with all departments and is essential in ensuring that our colleagues and clients fulfill their creative and business goals.

We are looking for someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved in growing our clients’ careers and expanding our business. This is a demanding and fast-paced position that provides a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic entertainment company. We require someone who is able to learn quickly, exercise good judgment, take initiative and full ownership of their work. You won’t be micro-managed but you will be supported. Our team comprises two full time experienced solicitors, a part time consultant solicitor, two trainee solicitors and one Paralegal.

The role

This role is predominantly focused towards supporting our broadcast and digital departments. You’ll review and negotiate contracts, mainly on behalf of our talent engaging in Digital First deals.

Many of our competitors do not have in house legal support but Insanity values its Business Affairs team highly. We recognise that rights management is at the core of artist management and to discharge our functions effectively, professional expertise is needed. We also believe that our creative team don’t need to be overly bogged down in lengthy contracts and we believe that support from the Business Affairs team allows them to thrive. This job is for someone that wants to enable colleagues to thrive and succeed.

We offer a flat organisational structure with a highly collaborative team who are constantly sharing ideas and upskilling.

The role is suited to someone can adapt to different working styles. Our colleagues should be able to access business affairs support in a way that works for them. That could be a well drafted email but equally you’ll need to be comfortable taking instructions on voice-note, via text, in person or on a call / Zoom!

We are looking for an 'all-rounder' with a diverse skillset in commercial and media law. Our department goal is to bring the quality of private practice, in-house - and to offer pragmatic, fast and effective advice that is not rigid. Every interaction should offer value and empower!

Working conditions

The role is usually carried out from 9am – 6pm from the company’s head office situated in Kings Cross. The job will require some evening or weekend work, remote working or work-related travel for new business opportunities. We are currently trialling agile working where we expect colleagues to attend the office at least 2-3 days per week.

The typical working day will be nine hours with an hour for lunch. Start time allows for flexibility within core business hours. May offer flexible working hours at the discretion of the Directors.

The job may involve working with challenging stakeholders or clients, from time to time.
