Graduate Geologist

This role will see you develop your technical skills in a wide variety of support activities, including exploration drilling, reserve calculation, computer modelling, surveying, mine planning, chemical analysis, hydrogeology, planning applications and estates management. You will be learning new skills, applying your geological knowledge and contributing to the success of the mining and quarrying operations from day one
You will also be part of the Graduate Network / Early Careers Group that offers continuing professional development opportunities, activities include:

What you will do:
As a Graduate Geologist, you will:
- Contribute to strengthen our safety culture putting safety at the forefront of everything you do.
- To provide geological support to the companies operational and disused mines/quarries.
- To assist with management of the company’s mineral resources: exploration, development, and subsequent restoration
- To assist with the management of legacy issues arising from old gypsum sites.
- To assist with the management the land & mineral estate.
- Work on projects across our UK sites
What you’ll need:
- You will hold or be expecting to graduate in 2023 with one of the following Degree qualifications or equivalent:
- Geology
- Geochemistry
- Engineering Geology
- Can demonstrate good levels of attention to detail when collecting and analysing geological / quality data
- Have strong communication skills and is confident presenting complex results
- Technical minded and can solve problems effectively using clear, logical processes and looks for solutions to problems
- Strong relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders / customers
- Experience and /or an interest in the extractive industry
- Full UK Driving Licence and has the flexibility to work at different locations in the UK
