GRADUATE / ENTRY LEVEL DESIGN ENGINEER

The Graduate Design Engineer will work closely with the Project Engineering and Blowers Teams using SolidWorks 3D and Draftsight 2D to produce drawings that meet client and production requirements. These can range from component parts to full skid package layouts, both mechanical and electrical (wiring).
To undertake this role candidates will have experience and knowledge of using SolidWorks 3D or a similar 3D CAD package. Having undertaken a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship or degree would be an advantage.
The main duties of the role are:
Applying standard engineering practice and reviewing client contract specific requirements - in particular noting materials of construction, inspection requirements and regulatory requirements.
Taking part in production/project review meetings to ensure deadlines are met.
Generate Bills of Materials for sub-assemblies, piping, and layouts.
Maintaining drawing logs and documented evidence of issues for the production department as per ISO 9001 requirements.
Assist with raising other technical documentation as required to meet Roots contractual commitments.
Production of material and weld traceability maps. Assisting in collating Manufacturing Record Books.
We are looking for a team player who is self-motivated with a desire to set high standards of work performance for themselves. You will need excellent organisational skills and have the ability to manage the workload with competing priorities and frequent interruptions.
A positive outlook with the ability to inspire confidence is essential.

Monday to Thursday – 08.30 – 17.00
Friday - 08.30 – 13.00
