Eurotec Pty Ltd is a clean tech start-up based in the south west of England. We're developing a game-changing product that will alleviate energy poverty and materially reduce CO2 emissions.
We're looking for a Graduate Engineer (mechanical/electrical) to assist in the detailed design of our flagship product. This role which offers substantial room to grow with the company beyond the project horizon.
This is not your standard Engineering role - we're looking for a problem solver who is comfortable working in a dynamic environment and dealing with ambiguities. The goal posts will move as the project progresses - you must be flexible and adapt to the changing environment. You will work under an experienced Lead Engineer, and receive regular mentoring from the company founders. Tasks will include:
- Assisting with the detailed design of Eurotec's flagship product to "ready to manufacture" status
- Drafting and 3D modelling
- Assisting the Lead Engineer to optimise the design in consideration of manufacturing methods, unit costs, material selection, the user experience and regulatory compliance.
- Researching markets, materials and regulatory requirements
- Working within a small multi-disciplinary design team including junior engineer(s), product designers and specialist subcontractors;
Essential attributes:
- Degree-qualified Engineer with at least 6 months experience in the UK, ideally from a mechanical/mechatronics or electronics background
- High degree of proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, 12D)
- Exceptional communication skills and an enthusiasm for solving problems
- Right to work in the UK
Highly desirable attributes:
- Previous experience in product design
- Proficiency in Ansys or similar modelling software
- Knowledge (or "hands on" experience) of manufacturing/fabrication techniques for sheet metal and plastics
- Proficiency in some "non technical" aspects of engineering, ie: research, commercial awareness, stakeholder management etc...
