Job description
Due to continued growth Enisca is seeking to recruit a Graduate Design Engineer to assist in the management of the design, procurement and delivery of M&E projects. The successful candidate will work with suppliers and project delivery teams to ensure projects are set up and delivered efficiently and within budget.
Key Duties:
- Undertake design and procurement activities for M&E projects and to assist in their planning
- Analyse and understand client specification and ensure projects are designed to meet their requirements in an efficient and safe manner
- Assist in the design process and ensure that all others involved in design processes are informed of any changes to the client’s specification
- Assist in the identification and pre-qualification of subcontractors
- Assist in the production of specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment including bid pricing schedules from scope of works
- Deal with queries during the procurement process
- Assist with bid analysis and award recommendations
- Place orders for the procurement of plant and materials and ensure they are within budget
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and to track and report on costs as required
- Ensure all design and procurement activities are carried out in line with the requirements of the company’s Integrated Management System and its procedures and to identify opportunities for improvements to be made
- Work as part of the project delivery team to ensure delivery of the project on time and within budget
- Understand the contractual arrangements of a project and ensure that they are not compromised due to design or procurement issues
- Provide support to site, construction and remote delivery teams at all stages
- Adhere to all Enisca’s HR and H&S policies and procedures.
- Undertake any other such duties considered to be commensurate with the experience of the post holder and the requirements of the post
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a project engineering role
- Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Microsoft Project
- Analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to diagnose problems, identify and recommend solutions
- Handling and processing information and data
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team and also independently.
- Ability to travel, plan, manage and prioritise own workload
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working in the water industry
- Knowledge of NEC contracts
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
