Job Summary
The AECOM Civil Infrastructure Department has an opportunity for a suitably experienced candidate to join our team in the Glasgow office.
The successful candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary office which offers a range of services including Civil & Infrastructure Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical / Ground Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Building Services and Building Surveying.
The Civil Infrastructure team offers a variety of exciting and challenging projects including Developer lead Commercial, Regeneration, Educational and Healthcare projects (both private and public sector), Renewables projects within the Power and Energy Sector and MOD projects within the Defence Sector and you will be working with an experienced and settled team working across all the sectors.
As a Graduate Civil Engineering Estimator, you will be working within our Contract Services group. You will be supported and supervised to become responsible for the production of tender packages (contract documents / quantity take-offs / bills of quantities), contract administration, procurement of contractors, preparation of cost estimates, project finance / cost control and report writing. The role will increasingly involve close liaison with clients, local authorities, stakeholders, regulators and representatives from external organisations.
You will be based in our Bothwell Street office and involved in a range of day-to-day duties of the aforementioned projects, assisting the team in delivering and managing commercial aspects with your projects. All Engineers / Civil Engineering Estimators within our Civil Infrastructure department are also encouraged to visit their sites, see the work and develop into more rounded / complete professionals, taking on more responsibility as their experience develops.

Minimum Requirements
The ideal applicant will be required to have good and professional communication skills, together with the following desirable key requirements:
Experienced in the production of tender documents (quantity take-offs from design drawings, bills of quantities / contract conditions) & specifications.
Experienced in Contract Administration role including procurement of contractors and project finance / cost control.
Experienced in preparation of cost estimates.
Familiar with CESMM3 / CESMM4 and MCHW (Highways) methods of measurement.
General understanding of civil engineering practices.
Experience in working with NEC3 / 4, ICC and JCT Contract Conditions.
Possess good written skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Clients verbally.
High levels of motivation and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision and fronting
Client facing aspects of projects with a desire to build strong Client relationships.
Hold a full UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering (minimum degree classification 2:1 or equivalent) with an MSc in Civil/Structural Engineering or a Masters degree (MEng) in Civil Engineering or similar
Appropriate level of experience in the Graduate Civil Engineering Estimator role in lieu of qualifications will be considered.
Support will be given to assist in the successful candidate in achieving the appropriate qualification with one of the following professional bodies – ICE, RICS or ICES.
