We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Assistant Engineer to join us on a full time, permanent basis. Joining our team in Macclesfield where there is free parking available, the role is offering a starting salary of £23,000 - £28,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
Inglewood Engineering provides specialist electrical engineering compliance services to sites across the UK.
As the Graduate Assistant Engineer, you will complete DSEAR compliance services at Clients’ sites and complete office data entry for hazardous area and electrical fixed wiring results. The role may require you to provide CAD Support to Engineers and assist Engineers in completing electrical, instrumentation and control design requirements.
Key responsibilities of the Graduate Assistant Engineer:
- Assistance with Detailed, Close and Visual Hazardous Area Inspections to DSEAR
- Assistance with Electrical Site Surveys to BS7671
- Data Entry for compliance projects
- Documentation for compliance projects
- 2D Computer Aided Design Drawing Modifications
- 2D Computer Aided Design Drawing Creation for design projects
- Assist Electrical Consultancy through meetings and telephone calls
- Carry out work at client’s sites across the UK and occasional work abroad
- Liaise and attend meetings with other company departments necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development
- Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills
- Monitor and report on personal times, activities and sanctions
Skills and experience required by the Graduate Assistant Engineer:
- Engineering qualifications, preferably electrical
- Some industrial experience preferred
Scope and Indicators:
Site based work: Range from 1 pair day inspections to several weeks multi team inspections. Clients include food manufacturers, power stations, pharmaceuticals industries, petroleum industries and other commercial properties. On site you will typically be with another inspector and a project team are available by phone.
Office based work: You are expected to be a proficient user of Microsoft office products. Reports and documentation will all be approved by project managers once the project engineer/inspector is satisfied. We use AutoCAD LT for CAD drawings. Drawings are typically 2D electrical loops or area classifications. All drawings will be approved before issue to clients.
Knowledge/Skills: Your technical knowledge is expected to reach industry expert levels in 3 years. You will be expected to gain a working understanding of the commercial requirements of our service. Using CAD you will be expected to be able to complete at least 16 simple loops in a day within 6 months of starting. Territory: Mainly UK with occasional work abroad, own vehicle is required.
