GPS Practitioner (Continuous Improvement Expert)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Expert (GPS Practitioner) to join our team at Worthing site. The Continuous Improvement Expert will be responsible to deploy the 6 standards of the Glaxo Production System effectively across the Worthing site end to end.

As a CI Expert, they will facilitate the embedding of the GPS standardised ways of working and driving the GPS mindset on continuous improvement to support the business strategy of Zero Accidents, Zero Defects and Zero Waste.

In this role you will

  • Work closely with the leadership team across the site to support the implementation of the GPS system

  • Lead / Facilitate strategic, high impact and high priority improvement projects/activities

  • Coach and train others on the GSK production system

  • Lead or participate in problem solving and kaizen events

  • Act as a change agent in introducing the 6 GPS standards and GPS standardised ways of working

  • Working with the site leadership to improve the GPS deployment for all areas

  • Role model for continuous improvement skills and behaviours

  • Support the strategy deployment cycle

  • Support site GPS Lead in identification of priority improvement opportunities

  • Active in the identification and learning / sharing of best practices between sites and within the site

  • Demonstrated track record of implementing Lean systems in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in a Pharmaceutical and / or Manufacturing environment.

  • Lean Sigma certified

  • Good communications skills, capability to communicate at a shop floor to leadership level.

  • Ability to coach, motivate and mobilise others

  • Strong reputation and credibility in making things happen

  • Has the ability to influence those that are not under their direct management.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Demonstrated track record in the Pharmaceutical industry.

  • Knowledge of Performance Management.

  • Project and/or Change Management.

  • Degree and / or correct equivalent experience

  • Working knowledge of Production (Manufacturing / Packaging), Warehouse and Laboratories.

  • Highly effective under pressure.

  • Understand the linkages between improvements in operational performance and financial impact.
