Government Affairs Manager
London EC2R 7HJ – Flexible / Hybrid
Salary £40K - £50K depending on experience
Full time 37.5 hours per week
The role
Health has never been higher on the political agenda. To help Bupa navigate a rapidly changing public policy landscape, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Government Affairs Manager to join our team at an exciting time for the business.
You’ll support in the design and delivery of public affairs and stakeholder engagement activity across the UK business, with a particular focus on our health insurance business.
You’ll be instrumental in enhancing our reputation and improving understanding of our business amongst political audiences through the delivery of a comprehensive programme of engagement with MPs, civil servants and other key stakeholders.
What you’ll do
- Be responsible for delivering high quality political and policy monitoring and analysis, sourcing, collating and analysing information from a range of external sources such as the media, external events, Parliament and monitoring agencies.
- Make sure external developments are communicated to and understood by senior Bupa audiences.
- Produce high quality written materials including submissions to Parliamentary and government consultations and briefings, speeches and presentations to support external engagement across the UK business.
- Deliver stakeholder engagement activity to promote Bupa and help shape public policy.
You’ll bring
- Public Affairs / Government Affairs experience and a strong grasp of how Westminster and Whitehall operate
- Sound understanding of UK Parliament, government and the policy making process.
- Understanding of devolved administrations would be great
- Experience of designing and delivering effective stakeholder engagement programmes.
- Effective, confident oral and written communication skills and the ability to engage diverse audiences and stakeholders
- Strong solutions-focused analytical skills.
- Experience of working on health, social care or insurance policy would be fantastic
