Client Details
L'Oreal is a top global client for Wavemaker. We work with them in 30 markets. We are their largest partner managing over 60% of the total globall billings
L'Oreal is also an important client for WPP working with Kantar, Grey and WT. However, the media relationship is over 60% of the total WPP revenue.
Reflecting the very local nature of L'Oreal business and structure, our relationship is also very locally driven. Appointments, contracts and commercials are all local decisions.
Our Global team has three key objectives:
- Build a strategic relationship with L'Oreal stakeholders in Paris and the Regions
- Help existing and potential markets to win/retain/grow business
- Better connect our markets to share best practice and embrace opportunities
This role has multiple senior client stakeholders, the most important of which is the Global Chief Media Officer
Reporting to:
Direct Report: Global Client President, Alex Altman
Matrix Report: Managing Director, KR Wavemaker Paris
Core Responsibilities:
- Be the key agency partner for the Chief Media Officer
- Responsible for building and nurturing a strong relationship with senior central clients, being the key point of contact on agreed workstreams and key deliverables, maintaining overall awareness on performance.
- Understand the challenges and opportunities for L'Oreal in order to lead the development of the annual internal Business Growth Plan, working with local markets to cascade and monitor the achievement of the Plan.
- Set and meet annual internal growth targets
- Work with the London based L'Oreal team to determine and direct key strategic projects
- Responsible for maintaining an overview of the L'Oreal internal business to be able to provide relevant business updates, including responsibility for the Wavemaker ExCo reports, contributing to the WPP internal client updates and updates across the wider Wavemaker Global Client Leadership community.
- Connect our markets on a regular basis to share and scale best practice, establish common challenges and opportunities and address them in an efficient and effective way
- Review Vantage and RAM feedback, developing clear action and improvement plans with markets and monitoring the delivery of those plans, providing support where required.
- Provide full support and advice to pitching markets, providing perspective, leveraging internal experts and relevant best practice.
- Work with non-incumbent markets to prepare and implement agreed pre-pitch strategy
- Build relationships beyond our core clients in order to expand our influence and our revenue
- Manage the team in Paris – ensuring they have clear goals, clarity on their responsibilities and areas of focus in order to deliver excellence in their respective roles.
Required Skills / Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track-record in building strong client relationships at a range of levels. They will also be able to demonstrate experience of and skill at connecting and influencing internal stakeholders (eg markets) in a professional and effective way.
When making decisions, L'Oreal are a numbers based organization, the candidate would be expected to be able to construct proposals and narrative in a way that resonates with the client. L'Oreal are also a digitally advanced marketing organization and the ideal candidate would need to have a broad media knowledge, including relevant experience of helping solve and propose digital, data and technology solutions.
