The Global Materials Planning Manager is a global role, where you will gain cross functional interaction across Procurement, External Supply, External Suppliers, Quality and Technical. This is a pivotal role as you will be responsible for supporting the relationship with key API suppliers that account for significant impact in the GSK network.

In this role you will…

  • Accountable for generating or consolidating mid and long term (minimum 24 months) API requirements for the GSK network and translating the demand into a supply plan for API suppliers.
  • Responsible for defining planning parameters and inventory levels for all APIs in scope with the appropriate rationale and governance approvals. This will be achieved by balancing security of supply with appropriate financial considerations.
  • Champion of API management excellence across the end-to-end supply chain
  • Key planning operational interface to various functional teams to meet demand and supply objectives as well as supporting resolution of operational issues to deliver API to receiving sites.
  • Have a clear understanding of all API requirements from the GSK network and define the appropriate inventory levels and delivery plans through robust engagement with the site and stakeholders.
  • Ensure security of supply of APIs through effective management of relationships with suppliers, good understanding of changes occurring in the network and establish robust processes within the GSK network to manage API demand and supply.
  • Ensure excellence in managing API inventory in the network that includes continuous improvement in supplier performance, identifying obsolete inventory and identifying risks in the network.
  • Be the key stakeholder in the supplier relationship management process, including monthly / quarterly reviews; supporting strategic supplier reviews; generating performance indicators.

Why you?

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent qualification / experience in an appropriate business or technical area
  • Good practical supply planning experience required, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment covering core supply chain processes including inventory management and rough-cut capacity planning
  • Demonstrated ability to work with 3rd party suppliers to drive supply performance and delivery
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders to VP level to reach decisions impacting supply of materials and contractual terms with external vendors
  • Ability to assimilate complex data from multiple sources to and articulate into simple practical solutions & recommendations in order to reach a decision
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams to deliver change programmes across multiple geographies
  • Knowledge of planning systems including SAP
  • Qualification in a supply chain related discipline, logistics, supply management, demand management, operational management, or MBA
