THE GIG

Sitting within the Global Marketing Team, this role plays a key role in Dr. Martens brand building activities. Driving a Social Media strategy that harnesses the strong natural advocacy from those who interact with this unique brand. Channelling this brand love in Social to scale our channels with world class content creation and community building. Maximising brand awareness and growing consumer audience.

This role works in alignment with Global Brand Marketing and country Social Media Managers, to define how we connect with consumers through social media on a local level.

As our Global Head of Social Media and Communities your responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead and drive the Global Social Media strategy for Dr. Martens, with a focus on building best-in-class strategies and first to market activities that leverage both established and emerging platforms to engage new and existing consumers.
  • Own the implementation of a strategic social media marketing plan and its associated budget across campaigns and channels.
  • Drive seasonal social media plans in line with the brand and product strategy, creating innovative social moments that deliver significant social sharing and consumer engagement.
  • On a global level work closely with Brand and PR to ensure Social Media plans are effectively integrated into Brand Marketing and PR activities to leverage owned and earned media.
  • Deliver seasonal and evergreen social media toolkits that equip regional teams to develop on brand activities that allow them to connect with consumers on a local level.
  • Lead the brands Community Management Strategy, embedding standards and best practice across the business.
  • Partner with key social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, as well as seek out and develop new and emerging platforms that can help grow our consumer base and brand.
  • Drive the advocacy and influencer marketing strategy in partnership with the Global Advocacy lead to ensure adoption across the business.
  • Lead a team of Social Media specialists that are actively seeking to raise the bar for strategic approach, creative development, and execution within the social media space.
  • Build a high level of collaboration with local Social Media teams to elevate content and ideas to Global Social Media channels and communities.
  • Prioritise the personal development of the team, ensuring delivery against set priorities for the year ahead.
