This is an exciting opportunity as Global Marketing Manager – Food and Retail.
This role will play a significant role in the development of this sector globally and be pivotal in implementing and executing tactical marketing plans in line with the Global Food and retail sector strategy.
The objective of this role is to execute strategic marketing plans to realize the sector strategy by closely working with the Sector MD, Sector development directors, and other Sector/stream marketing teams.
The Global Marketing Manager – Food and Retail sector will be developing and implementing frameworks, and processes for efficient and effective working across all streams, and sectors apart from closely working with regions/countries/GKA’s for the execution of global marketing plans in the key markets. Conduct an Industry-wide horizon scanning, proposition development and is expected to conduct regular horizon scanning of clients and Industry challenges and report back to the business.
The role holder shall also support strategic brand-led campaigns to elevate BSI’s brand apart from working together with Industry associations and Institutions to build communities of influence. The role holder shall also support streams, GKA’s, and regions/ countries by providing data-based insights to support business plans apart from identifying & sharing best practices
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Responsible for executing the Global Food and retail sector strategic marketing plan based on the sector strategy and realizing it in key markets and geographies
- Build thought leadership in Food & retail sector in key high-impact areas and support key themes of BSI group apart from building sector communities both internal and external
- Keep the BSI website sector pages, blogs, and showcase pages updated with the right content which is client-centric and relevant
- Identify market trends and insights (global and local) based on customer surveys and optimize go-to-market plans accordingly.
- Drive and monitor the execution of global campaigns and deliverables against defined KPIs.
- Leveraging the power of social media networks to share sector insights, thought leadership articles, share global trends, and engage with online communities
- Empower, guide, and exchange with local Marketing Specialists to ensure market and customer-centricity at the global and local levels.
- Provide performance reports and analysis on all global and local marketing activities to respective stakeholders and regularly exchange with streams/regions/countries on relevant business developments
- Conduct roundtables, participate in key strategic sector events and identify speaker opportunities to ensure the right platforms for the people to speak and drive engagement at senior levels
- Own interface with PR teams for food-related messaging on relevant market news items apart from proactively providing comments and inputs on food-based issues around the world
- Build a community of like-minded food marketers in key markets and geographies
Travel requirements:
- Need-based travel to support execution and supporting the deployment of the global plans
- Subjected to travel conditions the candidate may be required to travel for 15% time
Knowledge and Experience
- Significant international Marketing experience and demonstrable track record in a B2B professional services organization, developing frameworks, best practices, and operational efficiency
- Strong collaboration skills, able to work across Group Marketing, Global Accounts, Stream, Sectors and Markets to contextualise brand campaigns and thought leadership programmes for the targets audiences and have them executed in market.
- Balance of strategic vision and agile tactical execution
- Proven experience of change management and organisational transformation
- Strong team player, inspire and motivate cross functional teams with a unified direction and vision
- Evidence of strong leadership with experience developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing, supervising, coaching and appraising marketing communications teams
- Track record of creating and executing successful marketing plans
- Previous senior leadership experience of leading a global marketing team, directly or indirectly.
- A proven track record in developing and executing business strategies
- Knowledge, experience, and interest in market trends, recognising the value of data sharing to identify, and exploit, new business opportunities, new markets
- Experience of working within a global matrix structure, driving collaboration whilst leading direct and indirect teams who are typically geographically dispersed

- Strong collaboration skills, leading cross functional teams, able to influence across complex, matrix structured organisations, globally.
